Brown Bats
My brother went to our camp and found 32 bead brown bats in the back stove. The camp must have heated up during the day and was venting heat on one of those cold nights which drew them in. Unfortunately the were all dead....guess its time to build some bat houses,

I had a similar thought. I wondered if the bugs had lured them into the stove pipe on purpose
It is sad to see so many gone, at a couple thousands bugs a night each that is a terrible waste for your camp.

This was the first time I've ever noticed them. We are guessing that the camp heated up during the day and was venting out thru the stove pipe. It was prabably during that cold 40 degree nights in late August! _________________ FEAR Fear!

I would take the bugs over the bats... at least you can get bug spray to get rid of the bugs. I've never heard of bat spray

Ever been around the bats during their maneuvers? They miss you as long as you aren't swinging at them. They have no interest in us humans, only in eating the bugs that attack us.
