Judge Orders Man Not to Have Girlfriend

PETERBOROUGH, Ontario (AP) -- A judge has ruled that a 24-year-old Canadian man is not allowed to have a girlfriend for the next three years.

http://hosted.ap.org/dynamic/stories/N/NO_GIRLFRIEND?SITE=FLPEJ&SECTION=HOME&TEMPLATE=DEFAULT

I rule this judge is not allowed to have a boyfriend or any male pets for three years (because he's a sexist homophobe).

Yes, it is very clear. He said this abuser can't have a girlfriend but apparently he doesn't care if he gets a boyfriend and abuses him.

Bigots everywhere (!!!).

Sounds like he belongs in a cage.

I agree, this judge belongs in a cage lol.

What if this perp goes and gets a boyfirend and abuses him? What does this bigot judge have to say about it? Whats he going to say? Ahhh, well at least I made sure he couldn't do it to a straight female... This is a clear case of unequal protection under the law. I feel bad for any guys this perp ends up dating (because this judge didn't care enough to protect them too).

Another bigot on the bench!

I didn't see a male boyfriend mentioned anywhere. Are you making that up?

The basis of this judges sentence was that the perp abuses people he dates. Apparently he is only concerned if he dates (and abuses) girls because he didn't prohibit this abuser from having boyfriends. He has protected straight females from this abuser, but has not provided the same protection to gay males, thus he is a bigot and/or sexist and he should be kicked off the bench!

Clearly unequal protection under the law.

I didn't see anything that suggested he was bi-sexual.

Well lets hope he isn't! Did the judge even ask him?

This judge will feel awful bad if this abuser does get a boyfriend and abuses him and maybe even kills him (all because the judge was only concerned about protecting straight females)!

This is the most clear example of unequal protection under the law that I have ever seen.

This hasn't got anything to do with unequal protection . You are making that up yourself . Hypothetical scenarios in Canada doesn't have much to do with how we treat these cases here in the US

Well lets see. No girlfriends allowed (straight girls protected from him). Boyfriends apparently allowed (gay boys not protected from him). What part am I making up?

You seem to be implying that I suggested otherwise... I didn't.

What part of nothing even suggested the guy had, or wanted to have, a relationship with a man, don't you understand?

He wasn't gay, he was a woman beater. Rolling Eyes

I'm suprised at you. This guy abuses the people he dates. There is no indication that he isn't bisexual. The judge should have made it gender neutral.

Only a bigot would disagree with making it gender neutral. What harm could it do? Everyone would be protected that way.

That is hypothetical what if, and isn't relative to this case.

Of course its relevant. There is NO indication this guy isn't bisexual.

WHY NOT make it gender neutral? Everyone is protected that way.

Can you answer a simple question?

There is no simple answer to a hypothetical question like you are asking. You just keep making things up. Laughing

Yes there is a simple answer to the perfectly relevant question.

The sentence was given on the basis that he abuses significant others. The only reason not to make it gender neutral would be if you were a bigot.

If he is straight, making it gender neutral would still protect females just as much from his abuse. If he is bisexual it will protect both females and gay Men from his abuse.

I didn't make anything up. Those are the facts.
