Early NAtives brookies

Due to the fact that I'm busy with a newborn Baby....My old man and his fishing buddy went trout fishing up Chub Brook and tied into a few. Although I;m ashamed they kept such small native brookies, I still thought I'd post a picture of the "practically minnows" they caught. The only reason is becuase they're laughing at me seeing how I'm too busy to go!

Practically minnows!! Laughing Laughing Laughing

I have a four day weekend with at least a couple of days to get some fishin' in. I'm sure I won't even catch a keeper but we'll see.....

((Were the two small yellow perch I see the bait they used?))

I really can't say....because using perch is illegal.

However, a small yellow perch hoooked behind the dorsal fin and dangled a foot off the bottom of a good bass hole will always produce. Sit and wait....give 'er take 10 minutes and you should get into a nice bass.

As for the trout...I wouldn't know seeing how I'm knee deep in diapers!

My trout

You know, one time, in fact, it was the first time I went fishing, I caught me a trout.

My husband looked at it, removed the hook and said as he threw it back into the lake, "It's too small".

Days went by and we were talking and I said, "You know, that was the first fish I ever caught."

Ha! He realized his blunder.. Never throw that first fish away. ha

I wonder how long that's going to lass before the lure of the line pulls you back to the water for some fishing?! Its just a matter of time. Maybe you ought to bring the little one with you. Wink
